Located in the heart of one of the world's finest cruising areas, Bay Sailing School offers sailors the opportunity to learn in an spectacular setting. Penobscot Bay is a true archipelago of granite and spruce-covered islands with charming coastal villages dotting its bold shores. The Camden Hills and the distant mountains of Acadia National Park are the backdrop to your floating class room.

Rockland's expansive and uncongested harbor is protected by a mile-long breakwater making it an ideal place for beginners to test the waters. The open bay beyond and its multitude of islands are easily accessible to cruising level classes.

When sailing our pristine waters, you will find yourself in company with abundant wildlife. Seals, porpoises, osprey and other seabirds are commonly spotted. You may even sight a whale or bald eagle!

You may choose from serveral course schedule options including: Monday to Friday half day (am or pm), full day, weekend classes or week-long, live-aboard cruises. Those who are already accomplished sailors can Challenge the Standard by proving their skills and earning an ASA certificate in just one day. Group discounts are also available--enroll three and the fourth person sails free!

Whether it's an individual, couple or family, Bay Sailing School participants often combine their sailing aspirations with a summer vacation staying at one of many Bed & Breakfasts or small hotels in the area.

In addition to yacht charters and ASA sailing school, our services include day rentals and guided tours.
